
Brian Carlson is a Senior Technology Strategist in the OMAP Platform Business Unit at Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). Brian is responsible for technology strategy and IP management for future OMAP™ application processors addressing smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. He represents TI on the MIPI®Alliance Board of Directors and is the founder of the Marketing Working Group responsible for marketing strategy and promotion for this mobile industry alliance. He is a member of TI's technical ladder, composed of TI's top technical achievers company-wide.
Brian has over 28 years’ experience in strategic marketing, product management, technology marketing, business development and engineering associated with mobile communications and multimedia product innovations. Prior to joining TI, he was responsible for the DSP standard products and VoIP business for LSI Logic. He also held senior product management and engineering positions at DNA Enterprises, Hyperception and E‑Systems, where he pioneered many DSP-based software and hardware products. He holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and is a member of the I.E.E.E.
