Returning for a second time after 12 years to the dynamic city of Warsaw, Poland, MIPI Alliance held its 69th Member Meeting from 23-27 June, bringing together 117 representatives from 36 companies. The full week of member collaboration also featured several special events, including an Opening Plenary with a member keynote and strategic priorities update, a two-day MIPI I3C® Plugfest for member and nonmember implementers, and the 12th Annual MIPI Alliance Membership Award Ceremony recognizing members' outstanding leadership and dedication to the organization.
Groups that held sessions in Warsaw included the MIPI Board of Directors, the Technical and Marketing steering groups, 11 working groups and the Audio Class Software Subgroup. In addition, multiple groups held joint sessions to further collaborate on related specifications, resources and joint initiatives.
A comprehensive post-meeting report, featuring updated working group timelines and the most recent version of the MIPI Specification Roadmap, will be distributed to members next month.
Setting the foundation for the week's working group sessions, the MIPI Technical Steering Group (TSG) met on Monday, 23 June. During the TSG meeting, the board of directors and working group chairs reviewed MIPI's 2025-2026 strategic priorities and held in-depth discussions related to key focus areas, including the specification roadmap, low power initiatives and MIPI software strategy.
The meeting officially kicked off for all attendees on Tuesday morning at the Opening Plenary, beginning with a keynote address from Leonid Smolyansky, senior vice president of SoC architecture, security and safety at Mobileye Global Inc. Delivered remotely, his presentation, "MIPI Inside: Driver-Assist and Self-Driving Platforms," provided insights into the use of MIPI specifications, including MIPI A-PHY®, within the company’s product portfolio. Following the address, Leonid also participated in a live Q&A session with the audience.
Next, MIPI Chair Hezi Saar focused his opening remarks on the recently released 2025-2026 MIPI Strategic Priorities. After underscoring the importance of these priorities for setting direction, aligning resources and activities, maintaining focus and measuring progress, he took a deeper dive into specific initiatives outlined under the five priority areas of enablement, strategic roadmap development, membership growth and value, strategic direction and adoption.
The final Opening Plenary presentation was delivered by MIPI Executive Director Peter Lefkin, who highlighted recent and upcoming marketing activities, described the evolving scope of the Marketing Steering Group (MSG) and discussed the importance of member engagement in marketing and outreach activities to promote MIPI specifications.
The event wrapped up with the recognition of working group members who contributed to the recently adopted MIPI C-PHY™ v3.0 specification. George Wiley, C-PHY Working Group chair, accepted the Specification Award plaque on behalf of the group, and all members who participated in the development of the specification will also receive a certificate.
