Details
Industry Need
The Chip-to-Chip BoF initiative is in response to results from MIPI's 2025 "Member Insights" poll, which revealed strong interest in a MIPI chip-to-chip interface not covered by other standards organizations that would offer the characteristics of short reach, lowest system power, a minimum number of pins and sub-20Gb/lane bandwidth for asymmetric and bursty traffic.
Focus
The BoF offers the opportunity for both Adopter and Contributor members to engage in exploration of a potential new MIPI solution. Initially, the group will be tasked with identifying a lead use case utilizing an existing single MIPI PHY approach and a candidate protocol. The group will also be asked to advance a recommendation on whether to form a new working group (or a subgroup under an existing working group) to develop the proposed solution.
