To kick off MIPI’s recently established Physical AI Birds of a Feather (BoF) Group, MIPI is bringing together technical experts and market leaders to explore trends and technologies—and the role of MIPI interfaces—in the emerging humanoid robotics market.

The session will begin with an overview of the recently established Physical AI BoF, followed by a market overview presented by Samsung Market Intelligence and the MIPI Marketing Steering Group (MSG). We’ll conclude with an interactive discussion on the role of MIPI specifications in humanoid architectures.

Introduction to the Physical AI BoF

Presented by Edo Cohen, Vice Chair of the TSG and Chair of the Physical AI BoF
Get an introduction to the new BoF, which will analyze humanoid architectures and assess where MIPI specifications can be leveraged or expanded to address market needs. Sign up to participate in the BoF.

Humanoid Market Overview

Presented by Zach Haines, Samsung Senior Manager, Strategy & Market Intelligence at SSIC
A look at the humanoid robot semiconductor landscape, including:

  • The multi-billion dollar semiconductor opportunity and key value chain players — OEMs, software vendors, and hardware suppliers
  • Leading OEMs and their commercial deployments
  • Lack of software maturity and limited access to robust training data as a key development bottleneck
  • The semiconductor bill-of-materials for humanoid platforms
  • Startup investment trends and funding
  • China's humanoid robot ecosystem

Why MIPI and Humanoids

Presented by Edo Cohen, Vice Chair of the TSG and Chair of the Physical AI BoF
We’ll wrap up with a discussion of how the evolution of robotics systems creates an opportunity for MIPI to address gaps in standardized PHY, protocol and application interfaces with an architecture built on proven MIPI technology.
